Headquartered at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in Midtown Manhattan, the station has transmitted from this historic address since first going on-the-air in 1941. WNBC has been the station home for broadcast journalism’s most recognizable and iconic names throughout its history, led legendary News Anchor Chuck Scarborough remarkable 50 years of service at the station’s anchor desk, starting in 1974 and concluding with his retirement in 2024.
WNBC began a new and exciting chapter during the Spring of 2025 by joining Telemundo 47/WNJU in a new, shared state-of-the-art newsroom at 30 Rockefeller Center. The co-location of these two powerhouse stations has provided immediate benefits, enabling both stations to more effectively collaborate in their newsgathering efforts, benefiting their respective viewing audiences.
