Kay Angrum

Kay Angrum is the host of “News 4 Now”, WNBC’s daily digital newscast available on the station’s streaming channels.  She also hosts WNBC’s “News 4 Now” broadcast news briefs airing Monday through Friday between 12 PM and 1 PM. 

A native New Yorker who joined NBC 4 New York in 2019 as a digital reporter, Angrum previously hosted Listen Up, NBC 4 New York’s award-winning Instagram digital newscast which delivered a quick, two-minute overview of news and weather along with a special New York Live segment filled with the latest entertainment, pop culture and lifestyle news. In 2020, the Local Media Association awarded Listen Up with the Local Media Digital Innovation Award for Best Social Media Strategy.

Prior to joining NBC 4 New York, Angrum’s work in journalism included coverage of local and entertainment news. She has worked with The Associated Press, CNBC, CNN, E! News and Rolling Stone Magazine and has covered major entertainment events such as the Sundance Film Festival, the GRAMMYs, MTV Movie & TV Awards and Elton John's Oscars Party. As a college student, she worked in the newsrooms of KTLA-TV and KNBC-TV and held a summer fellowship with the TODAY Show.

Angrum graduated from the University of Southern California where she earned a B.A. in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a minor in Communication and the Entertainment Industry. She is also a proud and active member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the New York Press Club and serves as a mentor through a program at her alma mater, USC.
