Forget the clogs you knew in high school -- this season's iterations are clunky, chic, and absolutely perfect for everyday city walking. We're particularly infatuated with the options at downtown boutique No. 6, from buckled leather to shearling lined.
Our passion for clog boots started with Rachel Comey's collection of boots last year that featured chunky wooden platform soles. They were like the other platform boots we'd seen, but had a wonderfully grounded, almost country vibe that felt perfect for the daily commute or weekend wear.
This season, the clog heel is everywhere, though nowhere more perfectly than in the myriad assortment of clog boots down at No. 6. All the options have the same charming pale wood heel, and are available in short and tall styles. Given the cool weather we're likely in for (and today's cool wind was certainly a first glimpse into the cold months to come), we're thinking the shearling-lined versions might be our best option. We'd even wear the short shearling boot with a dress!
For a more eco-friendly option, Lower East Side boutique Kaight recently got a shipment in of Swedish Has Beens, clog boots from Sweden with grain leather and ethically sourced wood.
