    SOUTH CENTRAL SULLIVAN COUNTY IN CENTRAL NEW YORK...

    * UNTIL 845 PM EDT

    * AT 540 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AN
    AREA OF 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN IN THE PAST COUPLE HOURS...WITH
    ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL EXPECTED.

    * LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO ELDRED...
    GLEN SPEY AND HIGHLAND LAKE.

    RAPID FLOODING OF STREAMS...CREEKS...URBAN...AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS
    IS LIKELY IN AND NEAR THESE LOCATIONS. HALFWAY BROOK AND HICKOK
    BROOK ARE ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE.

    * SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
    SOUTH CENTRAL SULLIVAN COUNTY...
    NORTH CENTRAL PIKE COUNTY...

    * UNTIL 815 PM EDT

    * AT 512 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN WAS FALLING...
    AND WILL RESULT IN MINOR FLOODING.

    * LOCATIONS IN THE ADVISORY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
    BARRYVILLE...ELDRED...HIGHLAND LAKE...LACKAWAXEN AND SHOHOLA.

    A SMALL CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN...HAS PRODUCED
    DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IN THE PAST HOUR.
    THE STORMS WILL DIMINISH BY 6 PM...BUT ANOTHER HALF INCH TO INCH OF
    RAIN IS POSSIBLE...WHICH WILL RESULT IN MINOR FLOODING.

    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

    A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS THAT ALTHOUGH STREAMS AND CREEKS MAY BE
    ELEVATED OR EVEN RISE OUT OF THEIR BANKS...PROPERTY DAMAGE WILL BE
    MINIMAL. INCONVENIENCES CAN BE EXPECTED BUT THE FLOODING WILL NOT BE
    IMMEDIATELY LIFE THREATENING.

    AT 537 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A
    STRONG THUNDERSTORM NEAR GLEN SPEY...OR 11 MILES NORTHWEST OF PORT
    JERVIS...AND MOVING EAST AT 10 MPH.

    WINDS UP TO 40 MPH ARE EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM...ALONG WITH SMALL
    HAIL. IN ADDITION...VERY HEAVY RAIN...WITH RAINFALL RATES OF UP TWO
    INCHES N HOUR...IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. THIS COULD CAUSE
    PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS...AND MINOR FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE
    AREAS.

    REMEMBER...IF YOU CAN HEAR THUNDER...YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO BE
    STRUCK BY LIGHTNING. MOVE TO SAFE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY.
