Christian Siriano Spring/Summer 2010
Christian Siriano showed his Spring/Summer 2011 collection to a star-studded first row, holding fast to his now-signature glamour-girl gowns and ladylike suits.
With the Misshapes' Leigh Lezark (although we suppose she's more of just a model/it-girl now), 30 Rock hottie Katrina Bowden, and Alan Cummings in attendance, Siriano rolled out another blockbuster lineup of red-carpet-ready dresses and a few separates. There was not one, not two, but a few spectacular drama queens in the bunch, including a strapless metallic-bodice number with an exploding skirt the color and appearance of cloudy smoke; an orange, printed drape of silk that extended in one line to a long train; and a drop-bustle turquoise tie-dye gown we hope to see on a celebrity--stat.
A red-lace cocktail mini was spruced up with an over-the-top boutonniere of lace that bloomed from the shoulder and cascaded all the way down one side like a flume. Ladies-who-lunch will surely be sated by the matchy-matchy suits in metallic embossed skin prints. We admired the cheeky, updated silhouettes, including the romper.
Overall, Siriano managed to outdo himself in a way we didn't really think possible. Churning out doozies like this has made him the official couturier for the Scarlett O'Hara of the 21st century.
