Considering the explosive international success of Stieg Larsson's "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," it's hardly surprising that some designers echoed into Lisbeth Salander's dark, goth-chic vibe. This week's release of the English adaptation, starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, gave us the perfect opportunity to delve a little deeper into Lisbeth's edgy look.
Lisbeth looks particularly punky in this latest screen version of the Steig Larrsson book. Rooney Mara got several piercings (not to mention bleached her eyebrows) for the part.
Her dark, mysterious appeal is furthered by her devotion to motorcycle jackets and black hoodies.
Even Lisbeth's haircut -- a jet-black, asymmetrical crop shaved on one side -- seems to have gained popularity (case in point: supermodel Alice Dellal).

Lisbeth may not be slipping into an evening gown any time soon, but if she were to find the right occasion, we bet she'd reach for Alexander Wang's slashed satin gowns.
