Thanks to the NYC Health Department's new Facebook page and condom campaign, keeping safe with your loved one this Valentine's Day will be a little easier.
Call it cyber-sex in the city.
The New York City Health Department this Valentine's Day season will launch a new safe-sex Facebook page, aimed at sexually active New Yorkers, the New York Daily News reports.
The page will offer a chat section where visitors can post and reply to inquiries about sex, the city said. It will also offer support for city residents coping with sexual health crises.
Officials said they turned to Facebook because of its growing popularity amongst New Yorkers, according to the News.
The Health Department will also hand out free, newly-branded NYC condoms for residents looking to keep their holiday fun under wraps. The condoms will be available at local doctor's offices, hospitals and other city health establishments, as well as online via the Facebook page.
"We encourage New Yorkers to stay safe on Valentine's Day, and every day, by using condoms," Dr. Monica Sweeney, the Health Department's Assistant Commissioner for HIV prevention, told the News.
Additional sexual aides like female condoms and lubricant are also available from the Health Department.
