With Gap's e-commerce sales soaring, the company is taking the online shop international to 65 countries by year's end.
Gap will make an aggressive expansion of its successful e-commerce portal from one country to 65 in the next five months. Agressive, indeed.
The Gap portfolio also includes Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime and Athleta, whose debut overseas will push brands' presence well beyond that of the brick-and-mortar stores. According to WWD, first quarter online sales were up 11 percent from the same period last year, to a whopping $295 million.
This year has been a big one for Gap—first the jegging and now, world domination.
