A 12-year-old Brooklyn girl and her 9-year-old brother have been found after going missing for more than a day, the authorities said.
Lala Washington and Andrew Hillard, who live in Brownsville, were last seen heading to a food program across the street from their home around 8 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
They were found Thursday evening at a Starbucks in midtown Manhattan and were being taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
Neither of them had ever run away before, the NYPD said. It was not immediately clear where they had been for the prior 30-plus hours.
