First comes love, then marriage and sometimes divorce.
But what happens when a lesbian couple who married in Canada seek a divorce in New Jersey? The state grants couples the same rights of marriage as civil unions.

A judge in Trenton is expected to consider the issue Friday afternoon.
The state Attorney General's Office says the 2004 marriage of La Kia Hammond of Trenton and Kinyati Hammond of New Castle, Del., could be dissolved like a civil union.
But La Kia Hammond, who wants to remarry in Canada, argues she might still be considered married in Canada unless the Garden State grants the divorce.
