This week, a flurry of spring-timed movie premieres and high-end store openings brought out stars' fashion A-games. At the Ferragamo flagship re-opening on Fifth Avenue, Solange Knowles boldly paired a saturated purple jacket and bold red pants -- both by Ferragamo, naturally. If you want to snap up the shoes she's wearing, they're available now at Bloomingdale's.

At the 2012 Bid to Save the Earth: The Green Auction party at Christie's in Rockefeller Center, model Coco Rocha wore an evening-appropriate look from Fendi. The sheerness of the sleeves helps offset their volume, so the model doesn't come off looking like a pirate.

At the premiere of "The Avengers" in Los Angeles, Scarlett Johansson scored a perfect 10 in this little black Versace dress. She completed the look by keeping her makeup and accessories simple, so the focus was squarely on the modern cut of the dress.

Close on her heels at the premiere, however, was Cobie Smulders, who sported a sultry gown by Donna Karan that showed just the right amount of skin. Again, in keeping the accessories simple, Smulders keeps the focus on the dress (and her killer figure).

Chloe Sevigny isn't averse to taking fashion risks, and for the 35th-anniversary gala for the New Museum, the actress embraced the season's buttoned-up trend with a white tuxedo by BLK DNM, topped off with a clever clutch that looks just like a book.
Brooklyn Decker wore a fresh-off-the-runway look from J. Mendel's Fall 2012 collection for the Australian premiere of "Battleship." Though the runway look featured skin-baring cut-outs, the look Decker wore ended up a bit more covered-up.

At the European premiere of "Salmon Fishing in Yemen," red carpet darling Emily Blunt chose a midnight blue-and-black striped dress that was just shown on Carolina Herrera's Fall 2012 runway, complete with subtle embellishments at the hem. Herrera's Spring 2012 and Fall 2012 collections have been getting quite a bit of red carpet attention of late.

Madonna launched her new signature fragrance, "Truth or Dare" at Macy's Herald Square on Thursday, and -- no surprise -- the diva wore a black lacy look by Dolce & Gabbana for the event. Paired with her soft waves and simple platforms, the look was pitch-perfect.

Actress Freida Pinto looked fresh and playful at NYLON's 13th Annivesary party, wearing a Prada look that features one of the collection's iconic elements: '50s muscle cars.

Zac Posen landed two model dates to the "Fool's Fete"-themed Spring Dinner Dance at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Naturally, both Crystal Renn and Coco Rocha wore dramatic gowns by Posen, each with the designer's signature trumpet-shaped silhouettes and details at the shoulders.

Zani Gugelmann went for a more minimalist look with this floor-length pink gown. For some other great pastel ideas, check out our runway trend gallery.

Model Selita Ebanks, on the other hand, opted to make sure all eyes were on her with this silver gown by CD Greene, which was definitely in keeping with the season's ubiquitous metallic trend.
Model Arizona Muse was Jason Wu's date to Cartier's fete at the Cartier mansion, where she told reporters that she had paired her gorgeous black lace dress with a single Cartier earring instead of two. New trend?
Also at the Cartier party, model Karlie Kloss sported a ladylike, fitted black dress with the season's on-trend peplum waist detail by New York label Cushnie et Ochs.
Fellow model Chanel Iman was her counterpart in white for the evening, also wearing a wispy gown by Cushnie et Ochs with a plunging neckline. The dress is simple enough to be a slip, and the little white dress is slowly replacing the little black dress as the It-item of the season.

At the Paris premiere for her upcoming flick "Prometheus," Charlize Theron wore a fresh-off-the-runway cobalt dress from Stella McCartney's Fall 2012 collection (making her the first celebrity to wear anything from the collection). Cobalt is most definitely one of spring's biggest colors.

While Rooney Mara may be making fashion headlines stateside for her fashion-forward approach to dressing for her "Dragon Tattoo" premieres, Noomi Rapace, the woman who originated her role in the original Swedish version of the movie, is a fashion force worth watching. Case in point: the slouchy white suit she wore for the recent premiere of "Prometheus" in Paris.

While some actresses shy away from bold prints at red carpet events, Leelee Sobieski gets kudos for wearing this eye-catching dress by Maki Oh to the Paley Center's premiere of "NYC 22."

At the 2012 Bid to Save the Earth auction at Christie's, performer Grace Potter kept things simple with this Grecian-inspired black dress that featured a thigh-baring slit. For a similar look, a black dress with a sexy slit by Theyskens Theory is currently on sale on The Outnet.

Amanda Hearst went for a bold pop of color at the event, wearing a Stella McCartney dress (appropriate choice, considering the designer's eco-friendly aesthetic) that you can buy for yourself now on Net-a-Porter.
