By 7:55AM on Sunday (mere minutes before the Atlantic Terminal's Target in Brooklyn opened), nearly a dozen shoppers were already assembled outside the closed entrance to the store.

Most shoppers had a system -- grabbing everything they could in various sizes (some dumping tons of goods into shopping carts), planning to sift through their finds in the dressing room later.

Gaultier's classic trench for Target ($59.99) was the big "get" -- the rack of trenches emptied within minutes of the store's opening. This shopper was kind enough to show off his find, though other shoppers were left to wait around for some to abandon incorrect sizes. The trench was also sold out online before noon.

The cropped motorcycle jacket was also a big hit, despite its rather lofty price tag of $199.99.

Among the dresses, the full-skirt halter styles were the most popular: This rack of cotton eyelet dresses ($59.99) was absolutely ravaged after the first round of shoppers hit it.
The mustard-yellow dresses ($59.99) with a similar shape (left) were equally popular. The green lingerie-meets-retro polka dot dresses ($34.99) were incredibly chic in photos, but of rather cheap-feeling quality up close.

Along the same quality-fabrics vein, we were incredibly excited about this floral dress ($39.99) with a cool rolled, off-the-shoulder collar, but up close, the fabric was a bit disappointing.

There's a ton of swimwear in the collection to choose from, including these ultra-glam metallic one-pieces ($34.99).

These pink and blue floral bikinis looked perfect for spring break ($17.99 -- tops and bottoms sold separately).

This little black cocktail dress ($59.99) looked incredibly chic on, but runs quite small, so try sizing up if you're ordering online.

Of course, Gaultier's quintessential stripes were everywhere -- from blue and white tanks to yellow and black tees.

As always, we were most amazed by the amount of merch some shoppers piled into their carts to take home.

Some carts were piled so high, they seemed to be overflowing.
