Rachel Bilson, Rodarte, and Shoppers Hit Target’s Pop-Up

The crowds at the opening of Target's holiday pop-up were smaller than we'd expected and the air was bone-chilling, but the Rodarte for Target pieces were worth it, as was our five minutes with it-girl Rachel Bilson.

Target's three-day holiday pop-up is now open on the corner of Gansevoort and Washington in the Meatpacking District. (10AM-8PM daily).

It-girl Rachel Bilson turned up to celebrate the opening, and hand out $100 gift certificates to familiies in need. We were incredibly impressed that she managed to look so chic given the sub-freezing temperatures.

The pop-up takes a "fast food" approach to gifting: Shoppers can browse the windows alongside the store with clipboards and mark down their orders by number.

Gifting options run the gamut from digital cameras to Play-Doh to the most anticipated collection -- Rodarte for Target.

Once you've made your selections, pop over to a check-out window where a helpful Target employee will fetch your order and wrap it up for you.

When we asked Rachel what she was hoping to snap up from the Rodarte collection, she said the leopard-print bow belt for just $12.99. Funnily enough, most of the other fashionistas waiting in line (one since 8AM!) said the same thing.

Sidebar: We couldn't resist snapping a picture of Rachel's shoes. They are ridiculously sexy.

We also couldn't help noticing the charming Target logo-shaped wreaths all over the pop-up's exterior.

The first shoppers let in were all Salvation Army families, who got first dibs on everything inside the store.

As for us, we got back to the office carrying a cheery holiday bag packed with Rodarte goods.

Of course, we had to snap up the leopard bow belt ($12.99) that seems to be on top of everyone's wish lists.

We also snapped up the slip dress ($39.99), which is incredibly lingerie-like in person and doesn't have quite as rich a hue, though the bow-topped sleeves are so charming.

Lastly, we picked up the sequin ribcage dress ($49.99) after all. We'd been skeptical of it from the lookbook images, but in person, it's really incredible-looking.
