Car Crashes into Bronx Store, Kills 1

A car crashed into the Cee & Cee department store at 331 E. Fordham Rd. in the Bronx Thursday afternoon, killing a 61-year-old woman.

A livery cab crashed into a building on East Fordham Road in the Bronx Thursday afternoon, killing a 61-year-old woman and injuring six other people.

The woman, who had been pinned under the car, was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The building at 331 E. Fordham Rd. houses the Cee & Cee department store.

The driver of the cab and its two passengers were among the six people injured, according to officials at the scene. The two others were pedestrians.

Investigators are still at the scene, but do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. The driver has a clean driving record, according to officials.

The cab belonged to the High Class Bronx Limo and Car Service.
