Firefighters had to deal with another brush fire on Staten Island today.
They were called to the blaze in Great Kills Park, where two brush fires erupted yesterday. Today's fire went to four alarms but no major injuries or damage to property was reported. No evacuations were necessary, according to the fire department.
Four firefighters suffered minor injuries, officials said. On Wednesday, the two other fires sent billows of black smoke into the air and snarled nearby traffic before being brought under control.
Some 250 firefighters battled the blazes both today and yesterday. High winds caused the blaze to return Thursday, officials said.
There's no immediate word on the cause of the fires. The park is part of the Gateway National Recreation Area.
