Wednesday night, while most fashion industry insiders were wrapped up in the hooplah that was the annual Victoria's Secret runway show, another event captivated admirers on the other end of the over-the-top fashion spectrum: a catwalk presentation to kick off the 13th annual Chocolate Show.
Cocoavores and fans of kooky fashion were treated to a feast for the eyes as models paraded down the runway in ensembles made from—ta-da!—chocolate. The event, hosted by George Duran of TLC's Ultimate Cake Off and World Chocolate Masters, comprised looks created by 14 designers working in collaboration with pastry chefs and chocolatiers (one outfit was even designed by Betsey Johnson).
Besides all things cocoa, the night's theme was saving the oceans, according to Gothamist, which spotted designs showcasing "waves, seashells, foam, and the sun," including one particular get-up "freighted with 20 pounds of bonbons."
