Transit Union Chief Wants Google to Unmask Angry Blogger

The head of New York City's transit union wants to go after an anonymous blogger who's blasted him, and he's asking a court to force Google to give up his critic's name.

John Samuelsen says in court papers filed Friday that the blog has repeatedly defamed him with false accusations of incompetence and financial improprieties.

There was no immediate answer to an e-mail sent to an address posted on the blog. It's housed by Google-owned Blogspot.com.

Google Inc. declined to comment. The Mountain View, Calif.-based company says it doesn't discuss individual cases to protect users' privacy.

A growing number of cases have cropped up since Vogue cover model Liskula Cohen got an online detractor's name by court order last year.
