A Newark couple were seen driving away from the Willowbrook Mall last night when their car suddenly stopped, according to Montclair Police.
The male driver, 49-year-old Frank Marino , opened his door, and collapsed outside of the vehicle. He had been stabbed in his chest with a Ginsu kitchen knife.
The passenger, his wife, 41-year-old Jacqueline Smith-Marino, is under arrest, according to investigators.
Police say the couple had been arguing in the car before the stabbing allegedly took place.
Smith-Marino has been charged with aggravated assault, weapons and drug possession charges. She was found with an array of prescription drugs for which she didn't have a valid prescription, according to The Star-Ledger.
Mr. Marino was listed in critical condition at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson.
