A funeral was being held in Brooklyn Tuesday for the EMT killed in a hit-and-run on the Kosciuszko Bridge.

Police say 27-year-old Kevin Liang was riding his Ducati motorcycle the evening of Sept. 30 when an SUV hit him. Liang lost control of the bike and fell to the pavement. He was on his way to a dinner to celebrate his 27th birthday.

Liang was pronounced dead at Woodhull Hospital.

At his funeral on 65th Street in Brooklyn Tuesday, not far from where he grew up, bagpipers played as hundreds of people stood in the middle of the street to pay their respects.

Liang "absolutely was the light of their lives," cousin Pang Lee said of the killed paramedic's parents. "Kevin's the only son, and Uncle Tommy and Uncle Patty, they're part of the neighborhood. They've lived here their entire lives."

"He grew up here, Bay Ridge, 27 years old, went to a local high school here. Grew up right here," said Lee.

His family is offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the driver who took off.
