Kate Gosselin was a bundle of nerves prior to hitting the dance floor during Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars,” but it’s safe to say her jitters were more performance — and not appearance — oriented.

Gosselin has had a number of cosmetic procedures in the past, but in order to get ready for this season of “DWTS,” she reportedly underwent another makeover, one that allegedly cost tens of thousands of dollars.

“She feels she needs to look her best, so she gave herself a major makeover,” according to a source who spoke to In Touch Weekly. The grand total: an estimated $35,000.

The magazine reports that she got new hair extensions and highlights, which ran her an estimated $5,800; $1,000 worth of Botox; $11,000 worth of skin procedures on her cheeks; $5,500 of eye work that included eyelash extensions and eyebrow shaping; and a new set of porcelain veneers, which can cost $1,300 per tooth.

A rep for Gosselin said that there’s no way she underwent such a laundry list of procedures. “Of course it’s not true. Kate doesn’t have that kind of money to burn,” said the rep.

Sarah Palin close to show deal
Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is inching closer to a deal to sell the reality show she and Mark Burnett are shopping around, “Sarah Palin’s Alaska.” The Hollywood Reporter said that Discovery Communications has edged out A&E Networks in the bidding, and the asking price for the show is $1.2 million per episode.

Sources familiar with the pitch describe the series as being less about Palin and more about nature. “Palin is the hook — she can bring in a huge conservative base just by attaching her name to it — but the show that’s being sold is a nature show,” said one source.

The most shocking part of the deal is the price tag. A number of television execs are surprised that Discovery is going to pony up so much money for the show. According to those who’ve dealt with the cable channel in the past, the typical show budget is $350,000 per episode.

“A million or more is way over Discovery’s budget. It’s amazing they’d pay that much,” said one person. “I’d attribute that (level of spending) to Mark (Burnett) though. He’s got the golden touch.”

 

Lindsay gets another shot at fashion
Although Lindsay Lohan’s stint as an artistic director for fashion brand Emanuel Ungaro came to an abrupt halt, another designer is reportedly stepping in to give Lohan a chance in the business.

Ed Hardy, the onetime go-to brand of Jon Gosselin, is said to be working out a deal with Lohan. She’ll reportedly design a line of handbags.

Lohan’s most successful foray into fashion thus far has been her legging line, 6126. According to the brand’s Web site, she's donating all of the proceeds from the sale of her Fame style legging to Save the Children to benefit Haiti earthquake victims.
