Photographer Spotlight: Kevin Michael Reed
Kevin Michael Reed first picked up a camera to document his travels in various ballet companies around the country. But it wasn't until years later, while working at an ad agency, that Reed had something of an epiphany while contemplating Richard Avedon's portraiture. "I decided I wanted to attempt to shoot people," says Reed. "I ordered a cheap, photographic strobe off eBay, and a week later, without any experience, I photographed a local model ... A few months later, I quit my job in advertising and started exploring ways to make photography a career."
