A 2-year-old girl wearing only a diaper and a dress was found wandering the streets of Newark Tuesday morning, authorities say.
Someone in the area called cops after finding the shoeless girl on Stuyvesant Avenue shortly before 8 a.m. She was taken to a hospital for evaluation but appeared to be otherwise unhurt, authorities say.
Police say a parent responded to the hospital. The parent is expected to be questioned.
Child Protective Services has been notified.
