Cops Question Person of Interest in Bodega Slayings

Person was questioned in the hospital

Police are questioning a person of interest in connection with a deadly double shooting at a Crown Heights bodega last week.

This person was questioned in the hospital, the police said Wednesday.

The development comes nearly a week after a father and his teenage son were shot dead at the family's bodega after they resisted a pair of armed robbers.

The robbers were caught on tape entering the bodega on Utica Ave. in Crown Heights.

Police say 50-year-old Mohammed Monsoor Abuzaid was killed immediately.

His 18-year-old son, Abdul, was pronounced dead later at a hospital. A third person was struck with a firearm during the attack, but was not seriously hurt.

The robbers fled the scene, and it wasn't clear if they took anything from the shop.

Police were were canvassing the area and combing through surveillance footage.

Abuzaid was an immigrant from Yemen.
