Morning Blaze Displaces Three Families

Three families were forced onto the streets early Monday morning when a three-alarm fire spread quickly through their homes in Passaic.

It's not clear what caused the blaze, but all made it out safely. Some minor injuries were reported after everyone made it outside in their pajamas or without any clothing at all.

The flames began on the second floor shortly before 7 a.m., and firefighters had a tough time looking for residents because the fire spread so quickly.

The flames were at one point so forceful that firefighters were pushed  backward for a moment.
