A port terminal in New Jersey was shut down Thursday morning after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a tractor-trailer, authorities said.
Operations halted at the Global Container Terminal in Bayonne after the pedestrian was hit and killed at about 10:30 a.m., according to a Port Authority spokesman.
Incoming traffic was suspended for the day after the fatality, the spokesman said.
Chopper 4 footage from the scene shows several police crowded around a traffic lane at the terminal.
It's not clear what led to the fatality.
