Armed Robbers Tie Up Long Island Jewelry Store Owner, Flee: Police

Suffolk police are trying to track down three armed robbers who tied up the owner of a jewelry store and took off with valuables Wednesday.

The suspects walked into Johnny's Jewelry on North Main Street in Sayville, showed a weapon and tied up the owner before running away with an unknown amount of jewelry, according to police.

Dominick Casha, who works in the busy plaza, knows the owner, who was not physically injured.

"I heard that they tied him up or something like that, and I was like, 'Oh, God,'" said Casha.

"I saw all the crime scene trucks coming in and I was like, what's going on?" he said.

Police were at the store Wednesday looking for clues among the empty glass cases. They were also going to every business in the area looking for surveillance video.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Suffolk police.
