Mulberry Street in Little Italy will soon be alive with celebration as the 92nd Annual Feast of San Gennaro kicks off.

As New York City's largest and longest running festival, the Feast of San Gennaro transports visitors to Naples with almost 10 blocks of vendors offering endless Italian food and custom goods along with a robust schedule of entertainment.

Serious eaters can take things to the next level by participating in the 21st Annual Cannoli Eating Competition on September 14 at 2 p.m. or the 3rd Annual Meatball Eating Contest on September 22 at 1 p.m. Those interested can sign up by calling 212-764-6330.

Floats, gondolas, and music will fill the streets on September 15 when Grand Marshal Vic Dibitetto leads the Grand Procession at 2 p.m.

For those who would like to celebrate the religious aspects of the festival, the Solemn High Mass will be held on September 19 at 6 p.m., followed by a procession with the Statue of San Gennaro, the festival's namesake who was martyred for the faith back in 305 A.D.

Free performances will take place each night at 7:30 p.m. on the Grand Street Stage at Mott Street. In addition, visitors can enjoy a special performance of Mulberry Street - The Musical at 4 p.m. on September 22.

Those with children can take advantage of a new addition to the celebration when Mr. Scott hosts children's programming from 11 a.m. to noon on September 22.

During the final day of the festival on September 23, patrons will have the chance to give back to the community through the Annual Feast of San Gennaro Blood Drive, hosted by the Red Cross. Blood donors can stop by 268 Mulberry Street between 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. to make a donation.
