NJ School Evacuated After Contractors Damage Gas Line: Utility

A New Jersey school was evacuated Thursday morning after a contractor damaged a gas line near the campus, utility authorities said.

Students were cleared out of St. John’s School on John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City after crews hit the line, according to PSE&G.

Crews are on scene evaluating the damage, and there were no reports of injuries.

It was not clear when students would be able to return to class.
