Police are investigating the beating death of a clerk at an adult video store in Brooklyn.
Officers were responding to a report of an assault in progress early Saturday morning when they found the body of 54-year-old Nimala Randunu on the floor of the store on Third Street in Sunset Park.
Police say the Brooklyn victim had trauma to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities told The New York Times that before fleeing the store a suspect was seen taking videos off the shelves and placing them in a bag. They also say he tried to open the case register, but was unsuccessful.
