Nana Spears and Naomi Clark of Fortmakers have been crafting unique hand-painted scarves, dresses and unusual accessories and art objects since 2008. With such eclectic tastes, we were dying for a snoop through their satchels.

Nana stuffs a cool printed satchel with everyday work essentials and cool souvenirs. (1) A hot pink sharpie, "for taking notes on the go." (2) "Having a beautiful wallet [like this one by Commes Des Garcons] makes buying things more fun!" (3) "A MoMA PS1 backstage pass, because Fort Makers built and installed the stage set for last Saturday's summer Warm Up concert." (4) "My favorite kind of lip balm, Sugar by Fresh."

Naomi stashes whimsical trinkets and inspiring accessories in her leather carryall. (1) Carousel tickets. "My husband Noah told me only kids were allowed to ride it, and I said, 'That's crazy. No way!' So we took a ride." (2) A shell from Fort Tilden. (3) "My wallet I've had since 2002. When an ex-boyfriend gave it to me, it was pink and green. Now it is brownish ... gross. But it still works and has not ripped or fallen apart." (4) "I recently cut my hair short and bleached it platinum blonde. Most of the time I love it, but for the days I don't, I use these cute little bitty bobbies." (5) I always have a sketch book with me. I like using the plain-paged Moleskine notebooks. This one is violet. I have a collection of 50 or so filled sketch books."
