Tousled ponytails made cameos on a number of designer runways this season, including Reed Krakoff, Ralph Lauren and Alice Temperley. Eager to recreate the look at home, we stopped by Woodley & Bunny to learn stylist Owen Gould's top pony pointers. Step 1: To add texture to clean hair, Owen sprayed locks with Sachajuan's Volume Powder ($32 at Woodley & Bunny).

Step 2: Curl the ends of the hair using a large barrel iron, keeping the ends out for a looser look.

Step 3: Continue curling around the head, working up to the top-most layers. Spray with Sachajuan's medium-hold hairspray $28 at Woodley & Bunny.

Step 4: Starting with small sections, gently tease hair at the crown using a teasing comb.

Step 5: Finger-comb hair back into a ponytail shape, taking care to maintain height at the crown. Wrap with a bungee holder or a ponytail elastic to secure.

Step 6: Remove a small section of hair at the underside of the pony and twist it around to hide the elastic cord. Secure the section of hair with a small bobby pin.
