Prada Launches Virtual Palazzo iPad App

Prada is pushing into the 21st century with a new iPad app—dubbed "Il Palazzo"—launching on iTunes this week.

The app promises some especially flashy effects, courtesy of Hollywood visual effects artist James Lima, who designed an elaborate virtual "palazzo"—complete with black and white marble tiled floors and floor-to-ceiling windows—that users can navigate via gestures, WWD reports.

Prada plans to use the virtual palazzo space to showcase capsule collections and limited-edition product.

Currently, the app offers images of the new Portrait sunglass collection, while the brand's range of Bloom jewelry (all of which is furbished will delicate floral motifs and set into plexi glass frames) will be on view next month.
