Warm and Stormy Weekend Ahead

There's a chance of showers and storms Saturday and Sunday

This weekend's weather will be warm with scattered storms on both days, and may put a damper on the Belmont Stakes Saturday afternoon.

Saturday is off to a mild start near 70 in the city, with cooler temperatures in the suburbs. Some light showers will move through the Hudson Valley region later this morning.

A cold front moves through the area in the afternoon, bringing with it another chance of showers. There's a chance of rain at the race kickoff at Belmont, which is later this afternoon.

Some isolated severe weather, including high-wind and hail, is expected in some parts of the tri-state.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and humid, with scattered afternoon showers and storms mainly west of the city. Monday will be sunny and warm, with a high of 81.
