Authorities ID Woman Killed in Newark Shooting

Authorities say a woman shot in Newark's west ward has died from her injuries.
 
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray tells The Star-Ledger that 35-year-old Shakerah McBride of Elizabeth was shot on the 300 block of 14th Avenue around 8:45 p.m. Saturday. She was taken to a hospital, but died there a short time later.

  Murray says a motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Further details on the shooting, including how many people may have been involved and what type of weapon was used, have not been disclosed.
 
No arrests have been made.
