    Spotify Gets New Digs at 4 World Trade Center, Will Add 1,000 Jobs by 2018

    Spotify is relocating its U.S. headquarters in Manhattan, the company announced alongside Gov. Andrew Cuomo Wednesday.

    The streaming service will move be moving from midtown to 4 World Trade Center in early 2018, and with the new digs comes a host of new jobs: Spotify will add 1,000 new jobs to its workforce by 2018. The company will retain the 800 employees working in New York.

    The move to 4 WTC makes it the first office tower to be fully leased on the historic 16-acre World Trade Center site. Spotify will be getting up to $11 million in rent reduction credits from Empire State Development. 

    In celebration of the move, Cuomo produced his own Spotify playlist, which includes songs by native New Yorker Billy Joel. Check out his selections below.

    The music, podcast and video streaming service was founded in Stockholm, Swedenin 2008. Much to the delight of music fans, Prince's complete catalog arrived on the streaming service Sunday.
