Suspect Shot Dead by Cop in Brooklyn

A suspect was fatally shot in the head in Brooklyn by an on-duty police officer Thursday night, authorities said.

It happened near West 9th Street and Hamilton Avenue in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood. It wasn't immediately clear what let to the shooting. 

The suspect's gun was recovered at the scene.

No police officers were injured. Investigation is ongoing.
