Man Kidnaps Ex-Girlfriend, Crashes Hummer Into Gas Station on Long Island: Cops

A man was arrested after he allegedly kidnapped his ex-girlfriend then crashed his Hummer into a Long Island gas station Tuesday, police said.

Tyler Gunter, 23, drove to his former girlfriend’s home in Roosevelt around 3 a.m. and the two got into a fight that turned physical, according to Nassau County police.

He allegedly forced the 23-year-old woman into his 2007 Hummer H3 and drove to his home, police said. The woman was able to escape and return to her home. She was uninjured.

While officers were at the victim’s house, Gunter crashed his Hummer into a gas station on Nassau Road. He suffered major head trauma and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

Gunter was charged with unlawful imprisonment. Attorney information was not immediately available.
