Snooki: I Got Fired Because of “Jersey Shore”

"[My boss] knew I'd be crazy," she said

Snooki is finding out the hard way that the "Jersey Shore" isn't all fun and games.

The pint-sized "Jersey Shore" reality starlet said she got served with walking papers from her job when she told her boss she was skipping town to do appearances on the West Coast related to her role on the controversial MTV hit show, according to E! Online.

"I was a receptionist at a corporation," Snooki told the network. "I was getting good money, like $13 an hour. I got fired when I asked for time off to go to L.A."

"[My boss] knew I'd be crazy, so thank God that happened."

The hit MTV show known for featuring the drunken sexcapades of twentysomethings in a Seaside Heights, N.J., shore house is also known for its off-screen drama.

A number of Italian-American groups have claimed the show promotes negative stereotypes, and the cable network agreed to eliminate the term "guido" from its promotional clips.

Most recently, MTV decided to yank footage featuring Snooki being punched square in the face by a man at a bar in a video clip that went viral.

The 21-year-old, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, said she had to change phone numbers since the show began airing because she is being bombarded by phone calls, according to E!.

"A lot of people are calling my house, and I've gotten so many texts," she said.

Snooki and castmates The Situation, Pauly D and JWoww met up with "Hills" star Kristin Cavallari at a club in Los Angeles over the weekend.

"She told the girls not to read the stuff online," The Situation told E!. "I don't do that anymore. Not that I care what people think, but you know people are not going to like you."
