Rapper Pharrell Williams continues to spread his design wings, creating five styles of eco-friendly coats and vests - including a "bulletproof" one - for Moncler.
To fete the line's drop, the entertainer-turned-entrepreneur hosted a cocktail party at Parisienne boutique Colette. Always a dapper fella, Williams was himself sporting the collection's piece de resistance - a puffer (matte or shiny) fashioned after the traditional bulletproof vest. According to Style File, the bulletproof vests were flying off shelves.
Pharrell's got a face that could sell water to a fish - but, really? Obviously it's not actually bulletproof, right. Williams told Style File the design originated from the standpoint of a "warrior for the environment" and not a swagger of violence.
In addition, the line includes more traditional down coats emblazoned with images from the artist Keita Sugiura’s
series and constructed from Williams' Bionic Yarn fabric spun from recycled plastic bottles.
