Predictions on what designer Chelsea Clinton would choose to wear for her wedding have run rampant for the past few weeks, but a recent visit to Vera Wang seems to indicate the bride's following Ivanka Trump's lead. To complicate matters, however, it turns out Wang wasn't the only stop the Clintons made Tuesday. She also paid a visit to Oscar de la Renta.
The bride was snapped by WWD photographers outside Vera Wang wearing a not-so-perfect disguise -- a big floppy hat, essentially -- before stepping into the iconic wedding dress maker's showroom Tuesday afternoon. Wang has been a front-runner in the debate over what Clinton would wear, though separate reports seemed to confirm that the bride would be wearing custom Oscar de la Renta.
Oscar de la Renta, as it happens, is a close family friend of the Clintons, so it would make sense that Chelsea might break with what's become the American bride's choice (Vera Wang) and go with an Oscar creation.
Thus, it seems the Clintons have a clever trick up their sleeves: Dueling appointments at both Oscar de la Renta and Vera Wang might indicate that the bride's keeping the dress guessing-game going for a few more days.
