"Shut Up and Play the Hits," the documentary about beloved New York dance-rant institution LCD Soundsystem's final show at Madison Square Garden and the attendant personal aftermath now has both a website and trailer.
Check it out below and watch the ... sniff... tear-jerking performance footage and cameos from Reggie Watts, The Arcade Fire and (in voiceover form) journalist Chuck Klosterman. There are also lots of wonderful shows of frontman James Murphy sleeping in and wandering around looking lost, which is a pretty apt metaphor for how his fans feel in his absence.
The documentary was directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace and was produced by Luis Ochoa and Thomas Benski of Pulse Films, who all directed and produced the acclaimed Blur documentary, "No Distance Left to Run." It will have its official premiere on Sunday, Jan. 22 at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
