Hard to believe that BKLYN designs, the annual celebration of design in and by residents of The Borough That Loves Design, is in its seventh year. As the three-day event kicks off on Friday, 40-plus artisans will be onsite at St. Ann's Warehouse in DUMBO, ready to woo you with their designs (including ALS Designs, Casa Kids, Uhuru, Flavor Paper, Oeuf and the Pratt Institute of Art). There's also a host of other happenings taking place over the course of the event. A few highlights:
- Zannah Mass, Cultural Affairs Director of public-art outfit Two Trees, leads you on a free crawl of DUMBO's art galleries (Friday at 3PM)
- Dwell magazine curates a self-guided Brooklyn Home Tour. Peer into five distinctively designed abodes that probably look way, way sexier than your own apartment. (Saturday 11AM-5PM)
- Visit Brooklyn's new green townhomes at 93 Nevins, all kitted out with the latest in ecologically-responsible technology. Experts will be on hand to answer all your questions about greening your home. (Saturday and Sunday, 1-5PM)
