Not Guilty Plea for Suspect in Murder of Eddy Curry's Child

Fredrik Goings pleads not guily, will represent himself at trial

A Chicago attorney accused of killing New York Knicks player Eddy Curry's ex-girlfriend and their infant daughter has pleaded not guilty.

Fredrick Goings is charged with first-degree murder in the January shooting deaths of 24-year-old Nova Henry and 10-month-old Ava. The 36-year-old entered the plea at an arraignment Thursday.

Defense attorney John Lyke withdrew from the case, saying Goings can't afford a private lawyer. The judge ordered Goings to file an affidavit proving he can't before he'll get a public defender.

Authorities say Goings represented Henry in a paternity case involving Curry. Authorities say Goings and Henry were romantically involved and that she unsuccessfully tried to end the relationship.

Lyke has declined to discuss details of the case but has said Goings maintains his innocence.
