Woman Walking Her Dog Critically Hurt in Hit and Run: NYPD

A woman who was walking her dog was critically injured in a hit-and-run in Washington Heights, police said Saturday. 

The 42-year-old woman was crossing the intersection at St. Nicholas Avenue and 157th Street when she was struck late Friday, the NYPD said. Officers found her on the road with severe trauma to her head and body, police said. 

Family members identified her as Renee Edwards and said she is a mother of two teenagers. 

She was brought to St. Lukes Hospital. 

The driver fled southbound on St. Nicholas Avenue and no one has been arrested, police said. 

Police are looking for a dark color Chrysler 300M four-door car.
