A swastika was carved into a Long Island Railroad seat, a photo snapped by a concerned train rider shows.
LIRR customer Jake Adler took the photo Monday night on a train that left Atlantic Terminal at about 5 p.m., he told NBC 4 New York.
"This is a new one @LIRR swastika carved into seat in car 7170 511 train to FR. This goes way beyond poor service," Adler tweeted.
LIRR workers check for vandalism and graffiti on the trains every day, a spokesperson said.
As soon as a specific piece of vandalism is reported, a worker is sent to check for the graffiti, the spokesperson said.
