Prayers for Divine Intervention in Financial District

Christians converge on Broadway bull statue

A group of evangelical Christians gathered around Arturo Di Moca's "Charging Bull"--the statue on Broadway long associated with Wall Street.-- on Wednesday to pray for God to rescue the nation from the market turmoil that has accompanied the recent economic downturn.

An article on the 700 Club's website, quotes a woman named Cindy Jacobs, who organized the event, and God Himself, who apparently said “October 29 was Black Tuesday, the day the stock market crashed, and Satan wants to do it again.” In response, Jacobs called for a Day of Prayer for the World's Economies.

A passerby sent a picture of the actual event to Gawker and some readers commented on the unusual sight of seeing worshipers praying before a statue of a bull: "I *thought* this kind of behavior was addresses [sic] in “The 10 Commandmants [sic]”. Also, "The 2nd commandment does not take precedence over the health of my 401k."
