A man coerced his way into a 13-year-old girl’s apartment and then tried to rob her before sexually assaulting her and trying to rape her, police say.
The man, who police say is about 18-years-old, followed the girl inside of her apartment building in the Claremont Village section of the Bronx around 1 p.m. Thursday. He rode an elevator with her and somehow convinced her to let him into her apartment.
Once inside her apartment, he took out a knife and demanded money, police say. When the girl told him that she didn’t have any he forced her to perform oral sex on him and then tried to rape her.
He then stole her book bag and took off eastbound down Jennings Street, near Intervale Avenue.
