A teacher's aide in New Jersey is accused of having sex with a 14-year-old student, prosecutors say.
Liz Perez, 31, of Newark, is facing one count of second-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens announced Friday.
According to prosecutors, Perez, who works as a per diem teacher's aide at Dr. William H. Horton School in Newark, engaged in sexual intercourse with a tennage student over winter break. The alleged assault ocurred at her home.
The child is a student at the school where Perez is employed.
Perez's has a court hearing scheduled for Feb. 11.
Attorney information for Perez was not immediately known.
