Mayor Michael Bloomberg just got the term-limits law changed so that he can run for a third term, but don't expect to see him start campaigning yet.
First, he has to put out a few fires and mend relationships that were frayed during the contentious fight.
Bloomberg and his deputies have already started trying to patch things up with council members and others who were on the other side of the debate.
He'll need them when he starts making budget cuts amid this financial crisis, and he'll also need them next year when he's campaigning.
Aides and associates say New Yorkers won't see him doing campaign events until after the first of the year.
