The victim of an an rape attempt in Queens Wednesday morning told NBC 4 New York that she thought of her children when she fought off the attacker as he dragged her down an alleyway.
The woman, who is not being identified, said that she was walking near 121st Street and 23rd Avenue in College Point early Wednesday when the man -- a stranger who had moments earlier asked her if she wanted drugs at a nearby 7-Eleven -- grabbed her by the wrist and told her he had a gun.
"All the sudden he comes up next to me and he grabs my wrist and says he wants to talk to me," she said.
She said the man then forced her to walk with him before eventually dragging her down an alley between two houses.
"He wanted to rape me and I had to be quiet because he had a gun and would shoot me," she said.
The woman, a cancer survivor, said she thought of her children as she tried to fight the man off. A loud noise amid the struggle eventually scared the man off.

"I said, 'I can't go down this way. I can't have my children find me like this,'" she said.
The suspect ran south on 121st Street.
The man is described as about 23 to 25 years old and has a tattoo of a cross and Jesus on his right arm. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, dark-colored jeans and yellow work boots.
